Marlene Pierce at Lanzarote dance school Top Catz Dance had an existing website but it was an early web design and contained extremely out of date content that could no longer be updated.

Ideally the new website was to be in purple and green, the new content was to have less focus on the shows,include the various weekly dance classes and also allow Marlene to access easily to add new content such as their regular dance performances at local events in Lanzarote.

The first job was to try and save the content from the old website, some of these photos couldn’t be replaced as the originals were no longer available. Once secure, the old site was taken down and work began on the new design.

I found one or two purple and green themes but they were flower based and not suitable for

a dance website. I opted for taking a Drupal theme where you could change the colours and settled on Pixture Reloaded.

Marlene’s husband Dieter creates some incredible glass art, I remembered an art deco mirror that hung in their living room and merged similar colours to create the new look.

The website has a home page, about us page, dance classes section, dance shows section, news & events section, Photo galleries, contact us and link to us pages.  Marlene can easily update her class information pages, post news & events and add photos to the galleries.

We created a side menu with direct links to each type of dance class and added a random image box so that 4 different images would appear at any one time.

A new email account was set up so that Marlene can now be contacted at the website domain.
